The Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) & Africa program is a continental program co-funded by the African Union Commission and the European Union Commission that aims to improve access to Earth Observation data and services for sustainable development in Africa. It is the flagship program of the Earth Observation segment of the African space policy.
Women in GMES & Africa is an initiative created by the African Union Commission (AUC), as part of the second phase of the GMES & Africa program, with the objective of enhancing the active participation of women in EO/ space and to provide a platform that brings women together to share knowledge and best practices so that they can become fully involved not only in the implementation of GMES & Africa but also in other EO projects in general.
